The
most adorable squirrels in the world live in my back yard!
This is one of the young ones born this spring and he LOVES to hang out on the fence right outside my kitchen window to groom and nap.

Milestone: I attended Sapphire Joust this weekend here in
Richmond, VA and on Saturday I became an honored Companion
of the Order of the Pearl!
I had no idea I was going to be called into court for this very special
award and I am EXTREMELY honored
to say the
least. The Pearl is an "Award of High Merit" in the SCA
and this
page lists all the various awards given in the Kingdom of Atlantia.
Now the real work begins...

Knitting Project-Take 2: I've turned the heel and am
on row 3 of the gusset. Sorry if this is just a little too much
info for some of you non-knitting folks, but just suck it up
and try and be happy for me.
» Fun Internet nugget of the day: The Dialectizer takes text or other web pages and instantly creates parodies of them! Here's the Elmer Fudd version of this site. My personal favorite is the Swedish Chef version.

Knitting Project-Take 2: I started over on my socks with
the correct size 2 needles. The first pic you see below
was on size
5 needles and it was waaaaay too loose. Here's what the first sock
looks like so far with the nice, tight K2 P2 ribbing. These socks
are being worked from the cuff to the toe.

Knitting Project: My very first pair of knitted socks! I'm working them
in
Regia
Wool 6 Ply Crazy Color Passion #5402. Here you can see the first
22 rows of k1, p1 which will be the top cuff. I'm using this
basic pattern and if all goes well with this pair and I
don't totally botch the heels then I plan to buy Simple
Socks, Plain and Fancy: A Short-Row Technique for Heel and Toe by
Priscilla A. Gibson-Roberts and play
with other styles.
Wish me luck with the heels!

» New Cross Stich Projects: I ordered 2 kits from www.subversivecrossstitch.com (this one and this one) and have already finished the first one. You can't have more fun than cross stitching snarkey sayings in a very traditional and conservative style. I love the bunnies.

Relationship is shown between the textiles and the people
