as to be expected, the first has red hair like her Mommy.

» My
very groovy dining room pendant lamp: the Le
Klint 172 "Giant." I bought it back in February from Y
Lighting and it hangs over my dining table.
And because I can't resist, here's a little history on this gorgeous little thing: These hand-folded sculptural pendant shades were designed by architect Poul Christiansen between 1969 and 1978 and have been in continuous production by the Danish company Le Klint. The material is a color-stabilized white PVC which is completely washable and anti-static. Le Klint pendants are enjoying renewed popularity along with other design icons of the 1960's.
» I'd like to take a moment of silence to ponder the many fine qualities of these, my favorite men: Ewan, Ioan, Clive and Gerry.

» Happy Birthday Chester! My precious
little furry baby is 1 year old today! He has no idea what that means
except that he has been getting lots of extra treats and hugs all day.
» The original ending
to Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back, before it was
changed:
A furious lightsaber duel is underway. DARTH VADER is backing LUKE SKYWALKER towards the end of the gantry. A quick move by Vader, chops off Luke’s hand! It goes spinning off into the ventilation shaft. Luke backs away. He looks around, but realizes there’s nowhere to go but straight down.Darth Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Darth Vader: No… I am your father!
Luke: No, it’s not true! That’s impossible!
Darth Vader: Search your feelings… you know it to be true…
Luke: NO!
Darth Vader: Yes, it is true.. and you know what else? You know that brass droid of yours?
Luke: Threepio?
Darth Vader: Yes… Threepio… I built him… when I was 7 years old…
Luke: No…
Darth Vader: Seven years old! And what have you done? Look at yourself, no hand, no job, and couldn’t even levitate your own ship out of the swamp…
Luke: I destroyed your precious Death Star!
Darth Vader: When you were 20! When I was 10, I single-handedly destroyed a Trade Federation Droid Control ship!
Luke: Well, it’s not my fault…
Darth Vader: Oh, here we go… “Poor me… my father never gave me what I wanted for my birthday… boo hoo, my daddy’s the Dark Lord of the Sith… waahhh wahhh!”
Luke: Shut up…
Darth Vader: You’re a slacker! By the time I was your age, I had exterminated the Jedi knights!
Luke: I used to race my T-16 through Beggar’s Canyon!
Darth Vader: Oh, for the love of the Emperor… 10 years old, winner of the Boonta Eve Open… Only human to ever fly a pod racer… right here, baby!
Luke looks down the shaft. Takes a step towards it.
Darth Vader: I was wrong… You’re not my kid… I don’t know whose you are, but you sure ain’t mine…
Luke takes a step off the platform, hesitates, then plunges down the shaft. Darth Vader looks after him.
Darth Vader: And get a haircut, you look like a girl!

» Finally! Someone decided to use authentic horses in a Viking-age film! When I saw pics of the Icelandic horses being used in the upcoming Beowulf and Grendel movie I sighed a sigh of great relief that some directors have integrity and actually care about authenticity. Thanks to GerardButler.net and ArcLightFilms for these great pics!
Gerard Bulter is such a dish. I'm definately adding him to my list of my future husbands along with Ewan MacGregor and Ioan Gruffudd.

» I heard about this yesterday from one of my fellow Richmond Stitch n' Bitchers (thanks Melanie!), but I'm just going to quote from metafilter.com:
Stitch n' Bitch Chicago gets a nastygram. The phrase, the original of which is unknown (to me) refers to the art of getting together with friends for some knitting and chatting. It was popularized by a couple of books and is used by knitting groups the world over. One of those groups, the Chicago SnB, had a Cafepress store selling items with the phrase "stitch 'n bitch." Then the Sew Fast/Sew Easy folks came along and told Cafepress they hold the trademark (reg. #2596818). Cafepress requested that the Chicago SnB remove the phrase from their items. Predictably, this got people all riled up and posting not-so-nice things on SFSE's "Stitch and Bitch Cafe." Those posts were promptly deleted. Now the call is out for free lawyerly help. If any of you IP types want to offer advice, you might join the Chicago SnB Yahoo group. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

» Talk
about amazing customer service! I
ordered the yarn for my Dibs on Ribs sweater from eBay on Thursday and
it arrived today! Needless
to say, emtnestr is
now my new favorite yarn vendor on eBay! Not only does she ship fast,
but her prices are really good too. I'm also very excited because the
colors are much richer than they look in the picture of the finished
sweater.
Don't you love the way the skeins looks so cute all bundled up together in the bag?! The colors are yummy enough to eat...

» Finished Object: The Floral Felted Bag by Nancy Epstein is done! I even added a nice cotton twill lining with pockets (one is zippered) for my cell phone, lipsticks and other stuff.
» Finished Object: Clapotis scarf! It was actually finished on March 4, but I didn't post it then, so here it is. Thanks to Chester for modeling.
» Finished Object: Latifa Scarf. I finished this one on Feb 12, but was too lazy to take and post pics until today.
